Craft Time

Just a photo of baby girl from the 20th of April 2013. She was making a flower with construction paper and some of my scrap booking supplies. Surely, the tongue hanging out is helping with her concentration. :-)

Neon and some fun

Sunday, May 05, 2013

Probably the worst combination but I had to try. Dressed my daughter in her new neon green lace tee and took her to the Children's Museum. While there, she discovered this very fun piano and of course, I had to get photos. So many color issues confronted me, but with my ExpoDisc, Canon 50mm 1.4 lens set at f/2.8 and ISO of 2000, I proceeded to take my chances.

Ice Cream - Her Way

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

My daughter had been asking for the Play-Doh ice cream set for the longest, and I finally decided I would give it a try. Considering we have carpet, this may not seem like the best idea. I gave her the rules and she has actually been doing really well with it. We had an extra shower liner that was not opened, so I used that to cover the table. She had a lot of fun playing...and continued to ask me every hour when it was time to play again.

Her New Style

Friday, April 19, 2013

Just a share of my daughter after I styled her hair. She has naturally curly hair and has never had heat applied, so I thought it would be fun to play around and flat-iron for a straight look. Of course, she loved it and I had to let her know this was very temporary. She did look adorable though. However, I do not appreciate her putting on this brand new dress while hiding in the closet...lol!

Out and About

Thursday, April 18, 2013

This past Sunday we took our daughter out for some fun at the Children's Museum. Afterwards  we decided to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant. My fiance had spotted a place for us to try some time ago and we figured this would be a good chance to try something new. The name of the place was AJ Bomber's located downtown, just a few blocks from the Children's Museum. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere (which was good since our kid can be quite loud).

The food was pretty good. It was a nice hamburger (I am not really a beef fan) and my daughter definitely enjoyed her chicken fingers. I really think she is going to fly away one day from all of the chicken she has consumed. My fiance was so quick to start adding ketchup and condiments to the fries and burgers. Wish I had gotten a photo before all of that but...ah well. I have this memory at least. He said it was a great burger (he tried the Organic grassfed beef...whatever that means..lol!). My favorite part was reading all of the crazy writing everyone had done in our booth. There was a chalkboard that Aida would not stop writing on but that was okay since it kept her busy for a little while.

Oh my goodness, I have never posted this many photos but I was on a roll. Hopefully, I will have the images of my daughter playing at the museum to share sometime within the next week or so.

Oh, This Girl!

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Just a share of my daughter after she got her hair flat-ironed. I think she was shocked and amazed to have so much hair. She bounced around the rest of the evening after taking plenty of sassy photos like this one. I just never know what to expect day-to-day with her.  Love this girl!

Minnie Mouse Re-appears

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Friday when I dressed my daughter I put her on a cute little pair of jeggings and a navy and white peasant top. She looked so cute. A few minutes later she came back struggling trying to put on her Minnie Mouse "costume" because she was watching Barney and wanted to get dressed for the Halloween party. The girl really confused me! When did she start watching Barney? And, it is still April and not October, right? I figured this was not a battle that had to be had. It was a rainy day and she was enjoying herself. Of course, mommy had to get a photo...or two or three or more.

The first time she was this outfit was for Halloween last year. There is a photo of her here. The Minnie ears we got while at Disney World (Florida) for her birthday that year. The dress is by Bonnie Jean and I ordered it through Amazon. I always saw the dresses on sale at Dillards online for about $15- $30, and I knew I just had to find one that would be good to dress her as Minnie Mouse. I searched long enough and found this one in her size. It is a 5 and fits her perfectly. The tights are from Children's Place and the shoes are from Old Navy. The jeggings she is wearing in these photos are from Kohl's.

I am just glad that we were having a good Friday and I was able to capture these photos of her. Sometimes she gets so far in "pretend" mode that it is hard to get her to be still, even for a minute.

Mixing and Mashing

Just a couple of photos from March. I decided on a whim to make cornbread dressing and asked my daughter if she would like to mash up the bread and mix up the other ingredients. She was happy to help. Almost too happy because she started playing around and got stuff everywhere. Of course, these were taken before the mess. happy

Shining Down

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

My daughter has been anxious to get outside. It finally started to warm up around the end of March. I have been letting her go outside to ride her scooter and bike any chance we get. This photo was taken at the very end of the month and it was still a bit chilly. I had to remind her she might want some gloves on her little hands so she would not be so cold. The sun was shining bright and I did my best to capture her enjoying her time outside, but I think she was a bit annoyed with me for having the camera out...lol!

Laid Back

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

Playing around with black and white edits. I wanted to try working with a photo that did not really show her face but show her in the moment. I took this photo of her during the day when the sun was shining brightly through her window. No flash. Trying to embrace the natural light. ISO 3200 with the 50 mm 1.4 at f/2 and a shutter speed of 1/160.

This is the before shot. Straight-out-of-camera.

Breakfast

My daughter enjoying Froot Loops and cartoons on the iPad. I played around to create a matte look and I think I like it. :)

Purple Love

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

My daughter is four years old and very much a girly girl. She absolutely loves the colors purple and pink. Today I decided to stage a photo session for her. I take quite a few every day photos and I thought this would be a good time to play around. These are a few of the photos from today. More to come later. :)
